5 Watt Radio

We are excited to introduce our GMRS radio, featuring IP67 water resistance, 5-day battery life, and 5-watt power for optimal range.

This walkie-talkie was designed and tested in the mountains and rivers of the Colorado Rockies. It is rugged and durable, equipped with protective rubber padding and a shatterproof LED screen. Each unit undergoes hand testing to meet the IP67 waterproof standard (1 meter depth) and features a waterproof design, ensuring fast communication even in rushing currents.

 This 5-watt radio maximizes two key performance aspects of outdoor radios: coverage range and battery life. It transmits at the maximum GMRS power allowed by FCC regulations (5 watts). The maximum coverage exceeds 35 miles, though in wilderness terrain, the typical range is 2 to 8 miles. It comes with a 1800mAh dedicated battery that, on a single charge, lasts approximately 4 to 6 days even in freezing conditions as low as -20°F.

Easily secure the 5-watt radio to backpacks and other gear using the integrated steel alligator clip (360° rotatable) and backup lanyard. Alternatively, you can swap it out for our carabiner attachment, which includes either the Quantum ultra-light carabiner or the Triton locking carabiner – the latter co-created with our local Colorado partner, Trango. 

This 5-watt radio boasts practical features for remote areas, including access to 11 NOAA weather channels with weather alerts, as well as dual-channel monitoring and transmission. The radio's GMRS capabilities unlock 8 repeater functions to relay and extend transmission range, along with a detachable antenna. Each radio comes pre-installed with a compact, high-performance 3-inch antenna.
